After several solo band projects, Griffin Holtby decided he wanted to “put together a band so I can play with my friends, a party band this time!” Texas Turmoil was born. We are a relatively new cover band playing rock and country covers, and entertaining everybody who wants to listen and vibe along.
Griffin’s bands have won Wildflower Festival Battle of the Bands (2019) and Earth Day Rising Stars Competition at Fair Park , (2014) sponsored by Texas Music project. After three days of music acts, Seven-45 battled it out on Sunday night with two other bands and won. They were 13 and 14.
In Texas Turmoil, Holtby’s vocals and warmth as a frontman are complimented by William Dunhill’s guitar picking prowess. Holtby and Dunhill met at a charity event when they were 16, both performing in different acts . The band is rounded out by Ty Lewis on drums, Simon Grove on bass and Ian Kramer on keyboard. We’re all 25 and have been playing for years and we want to bring the energy and fun!
